44th Annual

Utah Early Childhood Conference

at Weber State University

2019 Keynote Speaker

Judy Jablon

Judy Jablon, founder and Executive Director of Leading for Children, has spent more than thirty-five years in early childhood education beginning with her work as a classroom teacher at the School for Children at the Bank Street College of Education and adjunct instructor in the graduate school. The focus of Judy's work has been to guide educators to use their collective wisdom to support and extend learning in young children.

Relationships and Interactions: The Key to Responsive Teaching

Join us for Judy's engaging Keynote!

Relationships matter more than anything else. Interactions —the exchanges in words and gestures that happen all day, every day, and often without much forethought--are the foundation for building relationships and extending learning. If some of these “everyday” interactions become intentional and purposeful Powerful Interactions, relationships would be deeper and stronger, educators could have greater impact, and children would reap enormous benefits. A three-step approach can turn everyday interactions into Powerful Interactions: be present so you can be intentional; connect to deepen your relationship with the child; and extend learning in ways that are individually responsive to each child.
